Important Notices

  • Well done to Laughil Blake who has progressed to the Final of the Irish Greyhound Derby. Laughil Blake is strong favourite to win the competition and to win Barróg 5,000 euro. As part of our 40 year anniversary celebrations the club would like to invite all members to Shelbourne Park for the final. This will be shown live on RTÉ so we need teams with jersey’s and flags to come support Laughil Blake. It will be a great night. We are also organising a bus to and from the venue.
  • Mini Leagues is back this Saturday at 10am. Get down early to register. Form available in the download section of the club website and is also attached
  • Places are filling up quick for Strictly Come Dancing. Get your name in as soon as possible. It will take place on Saturday the 29th of November. Let Tony (0877729492) know if interested in competing.
  • We are getting a second chance to win the Toyota Sponsorship of €5,000. It is very easy. All you have to do is book a test drive with Denis Mahony and tell them you are with Naomh Barróg. We have until November so loads of time to book your test drive. Let Tony (0877729492) know if and when you have booked your test drive.
  • Mentors’ meeting this Wednesday at 9pm. This is an important club meeting. Every team should be represented at this meeting.


  • Live music from Smoking Mojo on Saturday the 13th.

Match Reports

  • Congratulations to the U15 Hurlers on their 3-18 to 0-18 win over Na Fianna in the A Shield Semi-Final after extra time. They will now play Cuala in the final. Outstanding team performance.
  • Well done to the U14 Hurling team who beat Clanna Gael last Saturday leaving them in a tie for 3rd place in the league. Great displays from Liam O’Brien and Calvin Kearns. Excellent all round team performance.
  • Great return to the U8 football league on Saturday with a superb display against Na Fianna. In particular, outstanding performances and great attitude came from Josh O’Neill, Mihael Clarke, Christopher Butler and Daniel Moore.
  • U14 Camogie had a superb win over Raheny in the championship. The girls were magnificent from start to finish. Player of the match is shared between Ashling Quinn and Ellie Murphy. Special mention to both Amy Gravestock, who played out of her skin, and Lauren Hickey who played in goal for the first time and kept a clean sheet till the final puck of the match. 
  • Friday night lights as the Over 40 Social Football Team displayed their skills against St Maurs. Well done to all the lads who played very well in a game played in great spirit.

  • Thanks to Kieran Hanrahan, RTÉ and the Naomh Barróg House Band for a very enjoyable Céilí House on Saturday night.
  • Naomh Barróg Golf Society next outing is Captain’s Day on next Friday week September 19th to Royal Tara Golf Club. Tee time is 12:30 to 1:30. Time sheet is at the bar. This will be a great day so get your name in the timesheet early.
  • A special Mass to celebrate our 40 Years Anniversary will take place in the Church of St John the Evangelist, Kilbarrack-Foxfield at 6 30 pm on Saturday the 20th of September.  The Mass will be an occasion to celebrate the foundation of the Club 40 years ago, to acknowledge its achievements, the good it has done, to remember those of our members who have died since and to pray for the Club today, its work, its members, its families and the courage to continue our work to be a source for good in our community.  So please put this date in your diary.
