Important Notices

  • Well done to Laughil Blake who won the Final of the Irish Greyhound Derby and one the club 5,000 euro. A great night was enjoyed by all that went to Shelbourne Park. Photo available in the image gallery.
  • Mini Leagues started back on Saturday. Not too late to register your child. All welcome this Saturday at 10am.
  • Thanks to all who have committed to participating in this years' main Naomh Barróg Fundraiser, Strictly Come Dancing. We will be contacting you shortly about the briefing night and training nights. There are still a few places that need to be filled. The closing date is this Monday the 22nd of September. Strictly Come Dancing is going to be bigger and better than last year and when you see it on the 29th of November in the Regency Hotel, you will regret not being involved. Don't let that happen. If you are in anyway interested, let Tony Manton (0877729492), Cathy Comerford (0872763916), Eithne Peake (0858626262) or Peter Fitz (0871387272) know as soon as possible.
  • Mentors’ meeting this Wednesday at 9pm. This is an important club meeting. Every team should be represented at this meeting.
  • A special Mass to celebrate our 40 Years Anniversary will take place in the Kilbarrack-Foxfield church at 6:30pm on Saturday. The Mass will be an occasion to celebrate the foundation of the Club 40 years ago, to acknowledge its achievements, the good it has done, to remember those of our members who have died since and to pray for the Club today, its work, its members, its families and the courage to continue our work to be a source for good in our community.  So please put this date in your diary. Invitation Attached.
  • The club are having our 40th Year Anniversary Celebration Gala Dinner on Saturday the 25th of October. The venue will be Naomh Barróg. More details to follow soon.


  • Live music from a Joe Dolan Tribute Act this Saturday.
  • Champions League football Tuesday and Wednesday on the big screen in Barróg. Members’ drink prices all night.
  • The All-Ireland football between Kerry and Donegal will be on the big screen in Barróg this Sunday at 3:30. All welcome.

Match Reports

  • Fantastic win for the U15 footballers on Sunday in the first round of the 'A' Championship against St. Judes with a scoreline of 9-13 to 0-5. They can now look forward to a home quarter final against St. Sylvesters. Well done to all involved.
  • Brilliant performance by the U8 hurlers in a blitz v St. Vincents and Scoil Uí Chonaill in Pairc Barróg last Saturday. In attitude and outstanding performances came from Kyle Payne-Lyons, James McCabe abd Michael Tierney.
  • The U15 girls footballers had a great win against Templeogue Synge Street in Championship on Saturday.
  • Well done to the U14 football team who beat St Margarets in the league last Saturday. Great displays from Adam Kenny, Jack Sheeran, Yyan Alaxander, Sean Cleary and Luke Cantwell. Excellent all round team performance.
  • Well done to the Junior Hurlers on a 6-16 to 3-16 win over Faughs in the league on Sunday.

Other News

  • Naomh Barróg Golf Society next and final outing is Captain’s Day on this Friday September 19th to the wonderful Royal Tara Golf Club in County Meath. Tee time is 12:30 to 1:30. We wish our captain Joe Barry a very enjoyable day. For those players interested a coach will leave from the clubhouse at 10:30am.
  • The Club offers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Jim Harte, from Roseglen Ave who died unexpectedly last Thursday in London where he lived for many years.
