Important Notices

  • Attached is the notification of this years' AGM. It will take place on Tuesday the 2nd of November in Barróg at 7:30. This is the most important meeting of the year. Please make an effort to attend. Only fully paid members are allowed to attend the AGM. 
  • A big thank you to all who helped out in the organising of the Gala Dinner which was a huge success. Special thanks to Cathy, Eithne, Antionette, Freda, Gwen and Cathy. 
  • As part of the Naomh Barrog's 40th anniversary celebrations,  everyone is welcome to a kids music session in the clubhouse on Thursday 30th October 2014 @ 19:00 to 21:00. We will have a number of adult musicians there to lead the session. The focus will be on simple tunes and the kids enjoying themselves. Festive Halloween dress is encouraged.  Hope to see you there. 
  • No mentors meeting this week.
  • Contact Alan Martin (0872095974) to place your orders for club leisurewear for Christmas. Get the orders in early to avoid disappointment. 


  • The Under 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s and 12s are running a race night on Friday the 7th of November. All the money is going to the teams. Support the teams by buying a horse or jockey. €20 for a horse. €10 for a jockey. Should be a great night. Please make an effort to attend and support these teams.
  • The club are having a Car Boot Sale on Sunday November 2nd.

Match Reports

  • A group of 31 children from the U10s traveled to Madrid to play in the Madrid Harps Pan-European Tournament. They won the A and C competitions against teams from Madrid, Valencia, Brussels, Kilmacud Crokes and Ballyna in Kildare. Great performances from all the kids. 
  • The U12 Camogie team had their final blitz in Pairc Barróg against very strong teams from Na Fianna and Castleknock.  
  • Well done to the minor footballer who had a good win over St Brigids. Final score 2-12 to 0-6. Goals from Donnacha Butler and Seadhna Ryan.

Other News

  • Best of luck to the U14 Camogie team in their shield final on Saturday. 
  • There is a foundation level coaching course this Thursday in the club.  
  • Good luck to the U21 Hurlers in their Championship match this Saturday at 2:30 against Cuala. 
  • The tickets for the Strictly Barróg night are now on sale and are available from all the dancers and the members of the committee. Let me know if you need a ticket. 
  • The club offer their condolences to the family of Teresa Leahy who passed away last week.
