Important Notices

  • Well done to all the Strictly Barróg dancers. It was one of the best fundraisers the club has ever run. Everyone had a fantastic time. Congrats to the winners Anthony and Nuala. Thanks to all the sponsors, Kevin Rowe Events company, the Regency Hotel, the MC and the judges. Thanks to all the guys that helped selling the votes and Tony Canning who oversaw the vote counting. Special thanks to the members of the Strictly Committee, Cathy Comerford, Eithne Flynn and Peter Fitzgerald.
  • The AGM is tonight (Tuesday 2nd December) in Barróg at 7:30. This is the most important meeting of the year. Please make an effort to attend. Only fully paid members are allowed to attend the AGM.
  • Mini leagues are on this Saturday at 10am.
  • The Christmas Draw is on December 19th. Could any team manager who has not yet got draw tickets for their team please collect them from Joe Potter at the AGM this evening.
  • The club are hosting our first ever Players and Mentors’ Forum on Wednesday the 10th of December. We hope to discuss the future or the club, what we do well and what we can improve on. It will be a chance to voice your opinion. We hope to get a big attendance for this meeting. The more people there with different views and ideas the more the club will benefit.


  • Players and Mentors’ Night takes place in the club this Saturday.
  • The last poker night of the year is December the 12th. The usual setup and rules. All welcome.

  • Hard luck to the minor hurlers who narrowly lost their Championship final against Erin Isles at the weekend.

Other News

  • Well done to all the players and mentors that took part in the 40th anniversary blitz on Saturday. Over 250 boys participated in a 4 1/2 hour festival of football and hurling. Many thanks to all the mentors that planned the event over the past 3 weekends. It ran off very smoothly.
  • Christmas gear is available to purchase from Alan Martin (0872095974). Stocks are limited, so get your order in soon. 
  • The club offer their deepest condolences to the family of Brendan Archbold who passed away last week
