Important Notices

·         Well done to all who participated in the Blazing Saddles 100km cycle fundraiser. The day was a massive success enjoyed by all. Thanks to all the marshals, An Garda Síochána, the Cival Defence, the ambulance service, Duleek GAA club, Wild Geese GAA club, Windsor Motors, 360 cycles, Get Fresh, Maxi Nutrition, John Carroll who took the photos, the people who ran the shop and the bar, the Blazing Saddles Committee, all the sponsors and all the cyclists. This was the biggest Barróg fundraiser ever. Well done to all. Photos from the event can be found on the club facebook page.

·         Mentors meeting this Wednesday at 9PM.

·         Mini leagues starts back this Saturday the 19th September at 10AM. Registration starts at 9:45.

·         The draw for tickets for next Sunday’s All Ireland Football Final will be held in the clubhouse Wednesday night September 16th at 9PM. Members have already been informed of this procedure because of the limited allocation of tickets available to the club. Members are asked to be patient and understanding.


·         Bingo Fundraiser night for the U13s this Friday 18th September. Should be a great night. Extra prizes on the night for a full house. All support appreciated.

·         Barróg will have the Ceili House on the night before the All-Ireland Football Final this Saturday night. Always a great night. All welcome.

Match Reports

·         Well done to the senior hurlers who beat Na Fianna in the league on Friday night 4-12 to 1-7. Four goals from Dean Flood. Get well soon to Sean Cleary who broke his hand in the game.

·         Well done to the Minor A Footballers who won their championship game against Whitehall by a point. Hard luck to the Minor Bs who lost their game.

·         U15 LGF Championship Naomh Barróg 6-12 St Pats Donabate 0-10.

·         U15 Camogie Championship Naomh Barróg 2-5. Commercials 1-1, this is Barrógs third win in a row in the championship.

·         U16 LGF Championship,  St Annes 5-10, Naomh Barróg 6-7,

·         Well done to Lucy Murphy, Siofra Kelly and Katie O’Neill who played in all three matches.

·         U14 LGF Championship Naomh Barróg had a good win over our neighbours Raheny and the U14s are into a championship semifinal.

Other News

·         The lotto is a massive €9,000 this week. Please support the club lotto.

·         Naomh Barróg Golf Society Captains Day (Ronnie Ryan) takes place on Friday September 18th to Hermitage GC. Tee Time is 12:30 to 1:30. Time Sheet is at the Bar.

·         The Dublin Senior Ladies are playing in Croke Park in the All-Ireland Football final on Sunday 27th of September against Cork. Last year Barróg brought 150 players, mentors and parents to the match. If interested tickets will be ordered on Thrusday: U16s €5, OAPS €10, Adults €25. Please let Gerry O’Driscoll (0872846908) know if you want tickets.

·         Rest in peace Maurice Cassidy. Maurice passed away over the weekend. He was a long standing member of the club and was involved since the Club's foundation. He was treasurer for many years and was a massive supporter of all the teams in the club. Funeral arrangements to follow. May he rest in peace. Maurice will be reposing in St Francis Hospice, Raheny from Monday afternoon with removal on Tuesday, 15th September to the church of St John the Evangelist, Kilbarrack arriving for 10 o'clock Mass, followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery.  No flowers please, donations if desired to St Francis Hospice, Raheny.
